Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date-May 22nd

According to the new technology site the Galaxy S3, may be seeing a release date in the near future. The new device may be unveiled on May 22nd

Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date

The phone was initially expected to launch in April, says a report from the company’s Greater China president Kim Young-Ha. The launch date still has yet to be confirmed, but the newest speculations point to a May 22nd release.

With the iPhone 5 expected to launch in the coming months, Samsung may have a lot to compete against. However, users may be pleasantly surprised at the punch packed into the upcoming Galaxy device, which is expected to sport a 4.6in screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. And even though Apple may roll out a higher resolution display, Samsung’s signature AMOLED display boasts some of the best colors and contrast of any mobile device.

But Samsung may also be revolutionizing the mobile industry with its upcoming endeavor. A new speculation states that the Galaxy S3 may be the first phone to feature wireless charging, according to The Christian Post.

Its predecessor, the S2, won the “Best Phone” award at the MCW 2012, and sold 10 million units just two weeks after its release.

“The original Galaxy S has been the iPhone’s biggest threat as far as device vs. device sales go,” wrote Dustin Early of smartphone news blog AndroidAndMe.

iPhone 4S Price: iPhone 4S priced at INR 44,500

Aircel and Bharti Airtel have officially announced that they’ll be launching the iPhone 4S in India. In addition, they’ve also announced the prices, which are substantially higher than the last generation iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S is available in both black and white. Both Aircel and Bharti Airtel have priced the 16GB variant at INR 44,500, and the 32GB variant at INR 50,900. The iPhone 4S has a 64GB variant, but Bharti Airtel doesn’t list it on their site, while Aircel says “Sold Out”, with no mention of a price. Some reports say Bharti Airtel did price the 64GB version at INR 57,500, but pulled it from the site later. The iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 are still available, and an 8GB iPhone 3GS costs just INR 20,900.                     The phones are available for pre-order on the carrier’s respective websites till November 24th. Both the carriers will be launching the phones on November 25th. Both operators are using third party services to handle the pre-orders – while Bharati Airtel seems to be using their own spinoff called Actify.in, Aircel has teamed up with NCarry.com – from the people who made the award winning Nimbuzz Mobile Messenger – to handle the e-commerce. The phones are being distributed by Beetel in India, while both carriers are offering money-back plans through which the customer can recover the cost of the phone in 3 years.

Vodafone release iPhone 4S pricing

Vodafone has released its iPhone 4S plans and confirmed it too will begin selling the device at select stores, including its Wellington Lambton Quay store, as well as online at midnight tonight.

Telecom announced its pricing and launch plans for the iPhone 4S on Tuesday.

Vodafone's plans generally offer more texts and calling minutes but less data than Telecom's.

Vodafone's $85 a month plan gives customers 300 minutes of calling, 2500 texts and 250 megabytes of data. Customers signing up to the plan will pay $149 for the 16 gigabyte iPhone 4S, $299 for the 32GB version and $449 for the 64GB model.

Telecom's $80 a month plan gives customers 200 minutes of calling, 300 texts and 1GB of data. Customers signing up to the plan will get the same handset subsidies offered by Vodafone, $149 for the 16GB, $299 for the 32GB, and $449 for the 64GB model.

Both plans are for 24 month terms.

Four central city Telecom stores, including Wellington's Willis St store, will open at midnight tonight to launch the iPhone 4S.

Vodafone director of sales Grant Hopkins said any customers who signed up for a Smart Plan contract would get an extra 1GB of data every month for six months.

Vodafone's Queen St, Auckland; Lambton Quay, Wellington; George St, Dunedin; and Riccarton Mall, Christchurch stores will be open from midnight tonight to sell the 4S. Its others stores will open at 9am tomorrow.

Telecom's Victoria St store in Auckland, Willis St store in Wellington, Moorhouse Ave store in Christchurch and George St store in Dunedin will be open from midnight, and its other stores will be selling the 4S from 9am tomorrow.

All Black Dan Carter will be at the Telecom Auckland launch, while Vodafone has hinted the band Midnight Youth will be playing before its Auckland launch.

Siri hacked to run on iPhone 4 (VIDEO)

Siri-Hacked-on-iPhone-41

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has hacked Siri, the artificially intelligent voice control system on iPhone 4S to run on last year’s iPhone 4. An initial hiccup, GPU support, has already been overcome. Another hiccup, Apple’s servers not responding to queries from Siri running on iPhone 4, is still and issue.

Well that didn’t take long at all for Siri to get ported over to the Iphone 4. The iphone 4 does not have that fancy dual core e CPU of its successor, but it will still get the job done with Siri. The port of the sultry voice assistant was accomplished by using the 4S Siri and Springboard files, and some serious elbow grease, no doubt. As you can see in the video below check it out.

Troughton-Smith also suggests it could theoretically be possible to hook the Siri front end into Microsoft’s TellMe, or Google’s servers instead.

If Troughton-Smith could get Siri running on an iPhone 4′s single core Apple A4 processor, it probably makes you wonder why Apple didn’t include it in iOS 5 for iPhone 4. Apple, of course, famously didn’t bring video recording to iPhone 3G when Jailbreakers had it running. It’s either a feature they want to keep exclusive to iPhone 4S for now, or something Apple’s perfectionistic nature won’t allow them to do if it’ s not 100% smooth and performant. Or both.

How to Install Siri Assistant on iPhone 4(Video)

Siri was revealed at Apple’s Let’s Talk iPhone event on October 14th as a voice-based personal assistant which, well, allowed you to use your iPhone’s many “smart” features through voice alone. It was included as one of the three main features of the new iPhone 4S (the other being a best-in-class dual-core chip and advanced optics) and is exclusive to it, meaning folks on older iOS devices were left to set reminders and alarms, call their contacts and send emails through (shudder) touch input.

Well, there is now a way to install Siri, at least its GUI, on older iOS devices such as the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G.

Yes, if you read the above sentence carefully, you’ll find that this port is GUI only so you will not be able to use voice commands like you would on an iPhone 4S. This is because of the fact that Apple’s servers, which process your Siri voice input data, do not accept data for Siri from an iOS device unless it is from an iPhone 4S.

What’s the point, then? Well, that’s a very good question and our answer may not satisfy you: the fact that the community has got the GUI working has us hoping that they just might find a way to trick Apple’s servers into receiving data from older devices. This guide is strictly just for those of you who want to try the graphical elements of Siri on older iOS devices without actual functionality, or in others words, just for showing it off as it has no other practical use.

iPhone 4S Release with Features

4s

Putting an end to all the rumor mongering about an iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, the company finally unveiled the smartphone flush with iOS 5, an A5 chip, iCloud, an 8MP camera and Siri.

–> Retina Display

– >3.5-inch (diagonal) screen multi-touch display

–>8-megapixel camera

–> Autofocus

–> Tap to focus

–>Video recording, HD (1080p) up to 30 frames per second with audio

–> Talk time: up to eight hours on 3G, up to 14 hours on 2G (GSM)

–>Standby time: Up to 200 hours

–> Internet use: Up to six hours on 3G, up to nine hours on Wi-Fi

–> Video playback: Up to 10 hours

–> Audio playback: Up to 40 hours

It may be a wee bit disappointing for those who were expecting radical changes in the new iPhone considering the number of improvements it’s been given. Measuring 4.5” x 2.3” x 0.3”, it sports the same 3.5” 960 x 640p Retina display with multi-touch support. The camera is now an 8MP AF snapper with LED flash and capable of 1,080p video capturing, as opposed to the 5MP one with LED flash on the previous generation device.

An A5 processor replaces the A4 chip on Apple’s latest smartphone and there are 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory options to choose from. The handset that’s being given the boot offered only up to 32GB of hoarding space. In terms of connectivity, it’s a world phone and gets along with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, CDMA EV-DO Rev.A, UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA 850/900/1900/2100MHz as well as GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz.

But the highlight is the Siri software which is being touted as an intelligent assistant that can take hints from natural conversation. Apparently, if users ask a question like ‘Will I need an umbrella this weekend?’, Siri is capable of figuring out that it’s the weather forecast they’re looking for. The utility can even work around instructions like ‘Remind me to call Mom when I get home’.

Sounding deliciously like something out of a sci-fi movie, voice-based functionality is something Android’s familiar with already. But maybe not as familiar as we’d like it to be. Hopefully, Siri has been blended into the iPhone experience in a more intuitive manner. Apart from routine functions like searching the web, sending texts and so on, the software can also deliver traffic information for the user’s current location on being asked ‘What’s the traffic like around here?’

Some of the other features which should be of major interest to users cover integrated Twitter and iMessages courtesy of iOS 5, iCloud, access to the camera via the lock screen and up to 8 hours of 3G talk time. The iPhone 4S sports an enhanced stainless steel external, dual-antenna design that switches between two antennas to send and receive. Additionally, Apple will be selling it in black and white color options.

The U.S. launch date for the iPhone 4S is marked at October 14, though pre-orders will be accepted starting from October 7. It will be vended through the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and select Apple resellers. The prices for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions read at $199, $299 and $399.
